Chocolate Dipped Marshmallow Sticks

  • 2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tsp. shortening, divided
  • 36 lollipop sticks
  • 36 large marshmallows
  • 1/2 c. white baking chips, crushed candies, or flaked coconut for decorating

Preparation:

In a saucepan over low heat melt chocolate chips and 2 tsp. shortening. Stir until smooth. Insert a lollipop stick into each marshmallow. Dip into melted chocolate, turning to coat. Allow excess to drip off. Place on wax paper until set. Melt white chips and remaining shortening. Drizzle over chocolate, decorate as desired. Let stand until set. Use to stir servings of hot chocolate.
