Delicious Mashed Potatoes

  • 10 lb. potatoes, peeled and chunked
  • 5-6 tsp. salt, divided*
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2-2 1/2 cups hot milk


Cook potatoes in water and 2 tsp. salt until soft. Drain, then mash. Add butter and and cream cheese and mix well. Then add sour cream, 3-4 tsp. salt, and hot milk. Add more or less milk to desired consistency. Whip till fluffy. Nicely fills 7-quart Crockpot. Heat on low till ready to serve. Makes around 20-25 servings. For extra touch, top potatoes with browned butter. This can be made the day before and refrigerated, then baked to heat up. *Can use 1 tsp. garlic salt instead of 1 tsp. regular salt.
