Campfire Pizza

  • 1/4 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1-8 oz. can refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1-8 oz. can pizza sauce
  • 1-4 oz. can mushroom pieces and stems, drained and chopped
  • 1/4 c. chopped green peppers
  • 1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese


Brown ground beef and onion in a 11"-12" cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper; remove from pan. Pour off drippings from pan. Separate crescent dough into triangles; place in skillet with points toward the center to form a circle. Press edges together to form bottom crust and 1" up the side of pan. Spread half of the pizza sauce over the dough; spoon ground beef over sauce. Top with mushrooms and peppers. Pour remaining sauce over all and sprinkle with cheese. Cover tightly with with foil. Cook 20-30 minutes or until crust is lightly browned.
