Turtle Fudge Cake

  • 1 pkg. chocolate cake mix (moist deluxe)
  • 4 oz. chocolate chips
  • 12 oz. caramel ice-cream topping, divided
  • 1/2 c. chopped pecans, coarsely


Prepare cake according to package directions. Pour into a sprayed 12" round baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes, loosen edge of a cake. Invert onto serving platter. Microwave chocolate and 6 oz. caramel topping until smooth; pour over warm cake. Just before serving sprinkle with pecans and remaining caramel topping. Do not use a smaller pan size. Excellent with ice cream. Note: You may want to line baking pan with wax paper so the cake comes out of pan easier.
