Apple Dumpling Rolls

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 6 apples, peeled and coarsely shredded
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. water


Mix first five ingredients, cutting in butter till crumbly. Whisk together egg and milk well, then stir into flour mixture to make a soft dough. Roll out as for cinnamon rolls, then spread with 4 tablespoons butter. Stir together apples, brown sugar and cinnamon and spread on top of dough. Roll up, cut in 1/2-3/4 inch slices. Lay in large baking dish. Mix brown sugar and water together. Pour over slices. Bake at 350° for 30-45 minutes. Serve warm with milk.
