Pineapple Ring Treats

  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (15 1/4 oz.) can pineapple rings
  • 8 oz. Cool Whip
  • 1 sm. jar maraschino cherries


Place unopened can of sweetened condensed milk in a 10-quart pot and fill with water. When water starts boiling, turn burner down between low and medium; boil for 3 hours (make sure the can is covered with water at all times, if water goes down keep adding more hot water to pot). Let milk sit until cooled (milk has turned to caramel now). Drain pineapple rings and arrange them on a plate or individual plates. Open each end of milk can with can opener. Take one lid off and use the other one to push the caramel out 1/4 to 3/8 inch at a time. Dip a sharp knife in hot water to slice caramel (or dental floss works great to cut caramel too) and flip or place caramel slice on pineapple rings that were placed on a plate. Put Cool Whip on caramel and put a cherry on top of Cool Whip. Yield: 8 servings. Is a delicious treat with everybody! Note: Can cook 1 to 6 cans of sweetened condensed milk at a time. It keeps for a long time.
