Frozen Brownie A La Mode

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 c. sugar, divided
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1/4 c. cocoa, sifted
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 gal. ice cream
  • 11.75 oz. jar Smucker's hot fudge topping
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. strong hot coffee
  • Cool Whip


Beat egg whites until stiff. Gradually beat in 1/2 cup sugar; set aside. In a separate bowl beat egg yolks, water and remaining sugar. Stir in cocoa, baking powder and vanilla; whisk in beaten egg whites. Pour into a greased 9"x13" baking dish. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. Cool. Slightly soften ice cream; spread over baked layer. Freeze for 30 minutes. Combine hot fudge topping and coffee; spread over ice cream. Top with Cool Whip and freeze. Remove from freezer 30 minutes before serving.
